The story follows a young Ndebele boy who tragically loses both his parents in a motor accident. His family decides that the best option is for him to live with his aunt in Bruntville, Mooiriver (KZN).
At his new school, he struggles to fit in. His classmates only speak Zulu, creating a language barrier, and he is ostracised for being different. Raised in the Ndebele culture, he feels isolated and miserable-until one day, an unexpected opportunity changes everything.
While walking home, a group of children spots an otter and begins teasing it by throwing stones. The Ndebele boy realises he must set aside his anger toward his classmates to do the right thing. His actions earn him the respect of not only his class but the entire school.
This is a delightful and compelling story about courage, acceptance, and overcoming differences.
